BRIDGING SCHOLARSHIP for study abroad in Japan in Fall 2012


The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. The deadline for applications from students who will study in Japan beginning in Fall 2012 will be April 6, 2012.

Japanese Honor Society, TCNJ chapter

TCNJ established a college chapter of the Japanese National Honor Society in spring of 2008, and we have inducted students annually since then. To be eligible for this award students must maintain a 3.5GPA across five college-level Japanese courses. The 2012 induction ceremony will be held in late April. Please check here for updates!

Self-designed major in Japanese

Exceptional students wishing to pursue more in-depth studies in Japanese language and/or culture may consider petitioning for a self-designed major in Japanese language or Japanese language and culture. Interested students should contact Professor Didi-Ogren.


Alumni news 

NICK LOGOTHETIS (Japanese minor and History major, class of 2011) and Rachel Stephenson (English major, class of 2011) have been working in Japan through the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Program since August 2011.

RYAN McCLASKEY graduated with a double major in International Business and Japanese in May 2011. His senior project was on impact to stock prices of (Japanese) automobile-makers announcements of environmentally-friendly products or practices.

MICHELE REILLY successfully graduated with a double major in Journalism and a self-designed major in Japanese Language and Culture. in May 2010. Her senior project considered keigo usage (Japanese honorifics) in contemporary Japan. Michele is currently in her second year as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) in Japan through the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Program.
